Made from Sangiovese grown in vineyards located in all four of the major quadrants of the Montalcino production zone, which allowed owner Adon Bucci to make a highly balanced wine”.

Castagni vineyard lies at an altitude of 370 to 450 metres above sea level. Given the near perfect vintage, the 2016 Castagni offers beautiful drinking now but will most certainly reward cellaring. Incredible value for money here in such a pricey and sought after vintage. Lots of typical dark morello cherry and forest fruit, sweet spice and leather with a more savoury, smoky finish and firm but rounded tannins. This is a remarkably harmonious young Barolo.

A more serious, barrel-aged expression of Gamay with lifted aromas of dark cherry, plum, and raspberry layered with violet, spice, and a subtle earthy, iron-tinged note. The palate is structured and energetic, combining bright acidity with fine tannins and a savoury core of red and dark fruit, dried herbs, and a touch of oak-derived warmth. Youthful and slightly tight on release, finishing long and mineral-driven with the depth and grip to reward short-term cellaring.
Le Cecche 2017 Fiammingo Langhe
A structured and expressive Langhe blend showing lifted aromas of red cherry, dried raspberry, and plum layered with notes of spice, cedar, and subtle earth. The palate is medium- to full-bodied with firm Nebbiolo-driven tannins balanced by Merlot’s roundness, offering a savoury core of dark fruit, tobacco, and a touch of oak. Complex yet approachable with air, finishing long and gently spiced. Well suited to hearty dishes like braised meats or lamb.
Serge Mathieu 2009 Brut Millesime
It has structure, power and length, and bears the mark of its Pinot Noir. It clearly shows all the work that has been carried out in the vineyards since only very ripe and small grapes can produce such density and structure in a Champagne. 8.6 grams dosage.
Entirely made from Pinot Noir… clear, fresh and straight fruit of yellow skinned apples and Williams pears along with citrus flavors and some stony notes on the nose. This is remarkably elegant and delicate with a mineral backbone and an excellent grippy finish.

92 Points Vinous: One of our favourites…pure, delicious Sangiovese from a classic Brunello producer. Meaty, smoky, dense and tannic with aromas and flavours of dried cherries, earth and violets. On the palate, it is dense and broad with flavours of cherry, earth and that telltale Montalcino terroir. With all the hallmarks of Montalcino, and very well made, it represents fantastic value.

Clos Cibonne 2022/23 Cuvee Caroline Rose
A distinctive, age-worthy rosé with complex aromatics of dried flowers, ripe peach, and red berry layered with spice, honey, and a pronounced saline lift. The palate is textured and medium- to full-bodied for rosé, showing savoury depth, subtle oak influence, and a beautifully balanced core of orchard fruit, citrus, and mineral nuance. Long and quietly powerful on the finish, with a faint vanilla note and coastal freshness that underscores its serious, gastronomic style.
Saint Desirat 2022 Syrah
100% Syrah. Sustainably Farmed. Lots of characteristic Northern Rhone black pepper spice and savoury complexity. Sourced from vineyards just outside Saint-Joseph, hence the great price.
It's done in a juicy style, offering sappy spice-laced berry flavours on the palate. The spicy note recurs on the long, smooth finish. An exceptional value that is drinking superbly now.
