Crisp and fruit forward, with juicy stone fruit and melon leading into a bright line of Meyer lemon. Partial lees stirring and malolactic fermentation add texture and aromatic lift without dulling the easy-drinking freshness. Hand-picked fruit was split between two vessels and fermented with different yeasts, giving the clean, lively palate a little extra dimension through the finish.
Rust en Vrede 2020 Estate Vineyards Syrah
Floral perfume and musk lead the aroma, followed by blackberry compote, blueberry and ripe damson plum. Paprika, sweet red pepper and sandalwood add layered spice. The palate is round and juicy, with black cherry, crème de cassis and chilli chocolate developing through the middle. Dark fruit remains central to the close, with paprika, sandalwood and chocolate extending the layered spicy character.
