Sons of Sugarland 2023 Syrah
South African Red
White pepper, wild herbs, iris, blood orange and black cherry accompany a spicy, elegant red. The palate is supple and relatively light, with fresh red berries and a long, spicy finish. Syrah from the Karibib farm in the Polkadraai Hills undergoes whole-bunch fermentation in concrete. The wine carries 13.5 percent alcohol and has no oak influence.
Gabriëlskloof 2022 Syrah on Shale
South African Red
A single Bokkeveld shale site with high clay content retains water and contributes a riper fruit profile. More than half the crop was destemmed, while the balance remained in clusters. Wild fermentation took place in small open-top fermenters, followed by extended maceration and fourteen months in second- and third-fill French oak. Violets, pepper, blueberry, darker berries and black olive accompany stony texture, powdery tannins and fresh acidity.

Ripe black fruit and herbal undertones are joined by soft, ripe tannins. American oak nuances join a fruit structure, with medium length and a short finish. The red wine is dry, made entirely from Syrah and carries fourteen and a half percent alcohol. It comes from Thrace-Marmara in Turkey and uses a natural cork closure.

Blackberry, pie crust and baking vanilla accompany raspberry and light confectioners' sugar. Peach and raspberry also appear with juicy acidity and a lingering finish. The blend contains Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Petit Verdot and Syrah. Fruit comes from Horse Heaven Hills in Washington's Columbia Valley. Scorched earth, barrel spice, graphite and dark cherry add further detail.

Deep ruby in colour, with complex and elegant fruit and spice. The wine is full-bodied and firm, with dense tannins and well-balanced acidity. Wild berry appears in the persistent finish. Dark, deep colour accompanies jammed black fruit, including blackcurrant and blueberry, with grilled notes and dried flowers. The cuvée is built around Cabernet Sauvignon with Serine and Syrah. Its firm, deep and dense character is paired with elegance and a long finish. The wine comes from Vaucluse and is intended to integrate after bottling. Black fruit and dried-flower notes share its dark presentation.
Noon Winery 2018 Reserve Shiraz

Dense and full-bodied, with detail and nuance in the deep flavours. The texture is round, with firm tannins, length and balance. Shiraz comes from the Borrett family's 20 Rows block in Langhorne Creek. The smaller crop was harvested by hand at the vineyard on 13 March. Those vineyard and harvest details accompany the wine's deep flavour and round texture.
