AboutVignobles Levet

Vignobles Levet began with a parcel in Côte Blonde in 1929 and has remained a family estate in Ampuis for four generations. Agnès Levet continues the work of her parents, Nicole and Bernard.

Its 4.5 hectares of old Syrah vines occupy south- to southeast-facing schist terraces in Côte-Rôtie. Since the 1990s, the family has selected vines for propagation to preserve the local petite serine form of Syrah. A 0.3-hectare Viognier parcel at Saint-Michel-sur-Rhône, acquired in 2019, added Condrieu to the range.

Vignobles Levet 2014 Côte-Rôtie Améthyste

Blueberry, red plum, cassis and blackberry meet chimney soot, green peppercorn and a floral peony note. The palate is medium-bodied and firmly drawn, with lean red and dark fruit carried by bright acidity. Fine, dusty tannins provide a traditional frame, while earth and delicate spice add savoury depth. The finish is restrained but persistent, returning to pepper, dark fruit and a quiet smoky edge.
