Nerello Cappuccio

Pale ruby in colour, with lifted red-fruit aromas and a cool mineral edge. The palate is dry and medium-bodied, balancing bright acidity with fine texture and a savoury, saline current. Freshness carries through the persistent finish, giving this poised Sicilian red both clarity and an easy affinity with food.

Redcurrant, cherry, floral notes and gentle spice define the profile. The palate is medium-bodied and balanced, with delicate tannins and freshness. Eighty percent Nerello Mascalese and twenty percent Nerello Cappuccio come from volcanic sandy soils between 650 and 750 metres. After a forty-eight-hour cold maceration, fermentation takes place in stainless steel, with five to six months in tonneaux.

Brilliant ruby in colour, the wine combines eighty-five percent Nerello Mascalese with fifteen percent Nerello Cappuccio. Floral notes and red fruit appear in a lively, smooth profile with strong minerality and an intense fruity finish. The grapes come from volcanic soils on lava terraces at an average elevation of 720 metres. Fermentation lasts ten to fifteen days in stainless steel, and ageing includes four months before bottling plus five to six months in bottle.

The colour is crimson red. Red cherry, wild raspberry and delicate white-flower aromas are present. The palate is juicy, medium-bodied and flavoursome, with bright red fruit, underlying spice, fine austere tannins and a long mineral finish. Seventy percent of the grapes are destemmed by hand, with the rest retained as whole bunches. Fermentation is spontaneous, and the wine remains on fine lees in large used oak casks.

Pale ruby colour accompanies Mediterranean herbs, peonies, rosehip, barberry, red and black cherries. The wine is concentrated, with fine-grained, slightly drying tannins, high complexity, refreshing acidity and bright fruit. Pine tar, resin and red tea add further detail. The finish is very long. The vineyard is farmed biodynamically by hand and planted mainly to Nerello Mascalese.

Black fruit, forest berries and cassis meet smoke, tar, leather and a restrained note of toasted wood. The palate is broad and savoury, with delicate fruit carried by notable freshness rather than weight alone. Firm, fine tannins and steady acidity give the wine a dry, structured shape, while liquorice and mineral detail build through a long, balanced finish with a distinctly saline edge.
