G.D. Vajra 2024 Langhe Rosso
$34.99
Delicate ruby-red colour accompanies red fruit, sweet spice, violet and rosehip. The palate is energetic and lively, shaped by silky tannins. The blend includes Dolcetto, Nebbiolo, Barbera, Freisa, Albarossa, Slarina and Chatus. Grapes are picked by hand and sorted manually. Each block ferments separately for about twenty days. Maturation lasts approximately four to six months, mainly in stainless steel.

About G.D. Vajra
Aldo Vaira's path to Barolo began in 1968, when his father sent the fifteen-year-old away from Turin's student protests to spend the summer on his grandparents' farm. He bottled his first wines in 1972. The estate's high vineyards around Vergne are worked extensively by hand.
A vine-selection programme in Coste & Fossati began in 1979, followed by Freisa planted in Bricco delle Viole in 1980 and Rhine Riesling in 1985. In the cellar, the estate moved away from heavy use of French oak.
