Château de Cabriac 2022 Corbières Tradition

Black-fruit aromas accompany a round, ample and fleshy palate with cassis, blackberry and roasted-coffee notes. The blend is 45 percent Syrah, 20 percent Mourvèdre, 20 percent Grenache and 15 percent old-vine Carignan. The fruit comes from clay-limestone soils on Montagne d’Alaric. After destemming, each variety is vinified separately under controlled temperatures, with maceration lasting twelve to fifteen days.

About Château de Cabriac
Château de Cabriac’s family history in Corbières reaches back to 1802, when the property entered the Berlioz family; it passed to the de Cibeins branch in 1945. Jean-Régis and Michèle de Cibeins took charge in the late 1980s, and their son-in-law Philippe Hingre joined full time in 2020.
The vines occupy the cooler northern side of Mont Alaric, where shallow clay-limestone soils lie over sandstone and marl. Grape varieties are picked and fermented separately, with some older parcels harvested by hand. For the reds, the stems are removed before temperature-controlled fermentation.
