Fermentation takes place in concrete and oak vats rather than stainless steel, and maturation lasts seven months in oak and concrete. Wild berries, herbs and flowers appear with spice. The wine has a juicy texture, round tannins and moderate acidity, with thirteen percent alcohol. Made entirely from Mencía, this red wine comes from Ribeira Sacra in Galicia.

About Fento
Fento Wines is the Galician project of viticulturist and winemaker Eulogio Pomares. Based in Ribadumia, he works across different Galician regions, grape varieties and vineyard sites.
In the Salnés Valley, Atlantic-facing vineyards look towards the Arousa and Pontevedra estuaries, with Albariño growing alongside local red varieties. Pomares adjusts his cellar work to the conditions of each harvest.
