Gaintza is a family-run estate established in 1923 in Spain's Basque country, where four generations of the Lazkano family have produced Txakoli. The Gaintza vineyards are planted on the upper slopes overlooking the Bay of Biscay with the grapes being mostly Hondarrabi Zuri, Hondarrabi Beltza, and a small amount of Petit/Gros Manseng, Petit Courbu and Chardonnay. The Lazkanos have a deep respect for their land and the enduring local traditions and a committment to sustainable viticulture. Ambient yeasts are used predominantly along with cold fermentation, bottling at 0ºC to preserve the spritz. Grapes are 100% estate-grown.

A silvery yellow, this wine is perfectly brilliant and clear. Exotic fruits and honeyed notes on the nose, a combination of delicacy and strength. The lively attack on the palate is in complete balance with the rich, fat structure. The finish is a caress of citrus fruits and a long vanilla sweetness, typical of grapes dried on the vine. This sweet wine has enormous potential. To be drunk cold at 8° to 10°C and pairs perfectly with foie gras and cheeses.
This product is 500mL.

93 pts – “Peach, apricot and minerals on the deep, complex nose. Then rich, dense and tactile, with flavors similar to the aromas on the long, ripe, stony finish. Another smashingly good Coda di Volpe wine by La Rivolta, an estate that has a real knack for this variety and a long history of making outstanding wines with it.”

100% Greco, from a 2 hectare vineyard located in Cirò (Crotone district). Spicy, fresh aromas of peach, quince and honeysuckle hold much allure. The palate is white spice, salty, fresh and focused. This is an irresistible example of the native Greco grape.
"I think greco bianco (unrelated to Campania’s greco di Tufo) is potentially one of Italy’s best native grape varieties." - Ian d’Agata
