Antonelli San Marco 2024 Montefalco Grechetto DOC
$41.99
Made entirely from Grechetto, grapes hand-picked in September undergo soft pressing, cold static clarification and fermentation in stainless steel. About Antonelli San Marco
Antonelli San Marco's modern history begins in 1883, when Francesco Antonelli bought the San Marco property in Montefalco and began reshaping its farms and vineyards. The estate forms a single holding in the heart of the appellation, with vines on clay-and-limestone hills surrounded by woodland. Grechetto and Trebbiano Spoletino supply the whites, while Sangiovese and Sagrantino form the red-wine core.
Only estate-grown fruit enters the cellar, and both vineyards and wines have been certified organic since the 2012 harvest. Below the historic villa, a fully underground gravity-flow winery allows fermentation and racking without pumps and keeps the ageing spaces at a steady temperature. The estate has also worked on the revival of Trebbiano Spoletino.
