Domaine Roc de l’Abbaye 2022 Sancerre Rouge 375 mL

Peony-red in colour, the wine brings violets, rose, blueberry, blackberry and black pepper. Strawberry and raspberry are also present. The texture is supple, with firm, fine tannins and a fresh, persistent finish. Pinot Noir comes from twenty- to forty-five-year-old vines rooted in silex. The fruit was fully destemmed and macerated for about three weeks with pumping over and punch-downs.

About Domaine Roc de l’Abbaye
The Clos du Roc was established by a local abbey in 1450; the Mollet family’s winegrowing history reaches back to 1722. Florian Mollet returned to the family estate in 2000 after gaining experience in France and abroad, gradually bringing the Sancerre and Pouilly holdings together.
Today, Roc de l’Abbaye covers about seventeen hectares around Saint-Satur, with Sauvignon Blanc dominant and Pinot Noir also planted in the area’s flint-rich soils. The grapes from each parcel are made into wine separately.
