Portuguese Fortified
Deep cherry and burgundy colour fades at the rim. Rich, jammy, harmonious fruit appears with raisin, chocolate and plum jam. The wine is medium-full bodied, with rounded tannins. Aromatic, concentrated fruit flavours are present, and the wine has a stylish profile. The texture is fleshy, and the profile is complex. This Vintage Port comes from Portugal’s Douro Valley.

The palate is fully mature yet still structured, with vivid acidity keeping the savoury fruit and earthy depth in balance. Tea leaf, liquorice and a gentle consommé note carry through the long, dry finish. Decant carefully for sediment and serve with braised beef, game, mushrooms or aged cheese.

Medium-bodied, silky and sensuous, the palate combines mature richness with fresh acidity and firm, polished structure. Pour carefully from a settled bottle; an hour of air is ample. Excellent with flank steak or roast duck.
