Cocoa, pepper, mint, thyme, earth and violet are also present in the profile.

Blackberry, raspberry and loganberry appear with blackberry-skin tang. Whole clusters underwent partial carbonic maceration and were foot-trodden, with pressing after seven days. Fermentation took place in puncheon and amphora. The wine spent five months in a mix of forty percent amphora, forty percent puncheon and twenty percent third-fill Hungarian oak. The fruit comes from Zillah Vineyard in Washington's Rattlesnake Hills.

Zinfandel forms eighty-five percent of the blend, with Petite Sirah and Syrah composing the remainder. The wine is deep ruby-black, with licorice, cherry, baking spice and black pepper. Dark cherry, blackberry, dark plum, raspberry, vanilla and chocolate are also present. The palate is dry, rich and smooth, with soft, velvety tannins. Maturation takes place in French and American oak, twenty-five percent new.

Native primary and malolactic fermentations precede eleven months in American oak, including five percent new barrels.

Production totalled eighty-five thousand cases from Napa County fruit.

Cherry, fig, vanilla and clove accompany bright cherry fruit, toasted marshmallow and nutmeg. Spice and tannin detail also appear. The blend contains Zinfandel and Petite Sirah from Mendocino County. Fruit comes from the Larramendy vineyard, planted in the 1950s on gravelly loam, and the wine matures for sixteen months in new French and American oak.
