Barolo produced here is best described as “warm-hearted”. Michele’s Barolo Ascheri comes from the classic chalky soils of La Morra about 250 meters up the steep hillside, inter-planted with several types of grasses and beans to aid biodiversity and soil structure. The resulting wine has an enticing nose of flowers, ripe strawberries and dark cherries, and a good mouthful of plummy ripe elegant fruit. This deceptively mid-weight Barolo has a ton to offer.
Reverdito 2016 Barolo Bricco
A structured and aromatic expression of Nebbiolo, showing lifted notes of red cherry, rose petal, and wild strawberry layered with licorice, tar, and subtle dried herbs. The palate is firm and linear, with fine but assertive tannins supporting a core of pure red fruit and savoury mineral drive. Classic and age-worthy in style, finishing long and focused with floral lift and earthy persistence.

Castagni vineyard lies at an altitude of 370 to 450 metres above sea level. Given the near perfect vintage, the 2016 Castagni offers beautiful drinking now but will most certainly reward cellaring. Incredible value for money here in such a pricey and sought after vintage. Lots of typical dark morello cherry and forest fruit, sweet spice and leather with a more savoury, smoky finish and firm but rounded tannins. This is a remarkably harmonious young Barolo.
Reverdito 2016 Barolo Badarina
A beautifully evolved Barolo with complex aromatics of dried cherry, red currant, and rose petal layered with tar, tobacco, leather, and sweet spice. The palate is refined and expressive, showing fully integrated tannins, lifted acidity, and a core of mature Nebbiolo fruit that now leans into savoury, earthy depth rather than primary intensity. Long and harmonious on the finish, with lingering notes of orange peel, dried herbs, and mineral nuance that speak to both site and vintage character.
Reverdito 2020 Barolo
A classically styled Barolo showing lifted aromas of sour cherry, dried strawberry, rose petal, and violet layered with hints of tar, licorice, and sweet spice. The palate is structured and linear, with firm but refined tannins framing pure red fruit, orange peel, and subtle earthy undertones carried by vibrant acidity. Youthful and tightly coiled in its current state, finishing long and savoury with mineral grip and the clear promise of graceful evolution in bottle.
Scala 2024 Ciro Rosato
One of the most interesting pink wines we’ve come across. 100% Gaglioppo from 30 year old vineyard located in Cirò (Crotone district), with a south/south-east exposure – sand and clay soil. Juicy, spicy and ripe, it offers a delightful nose of red cherry, raspberry and aromatic herbs. Finishes long and mineral with a mouth-watering a sweet and sour tang.

The Nebbiolo that comes off this property is some of the best in La Morra. Even in challenging vintages the Monfalletto terroir yields Nebbiolo that is both powerful and supple. Insiders know that this is one of the best terroirs in Barolo. The 2019 vintage is perhaps its best yet, with stellar ratings across the board - it captures the true essence of the Langhe region.

A structured and expressive Langhe blend showing lifted aromas of red cherry, dried raspberry, and plum layered with notes of spice, cedar, and subtle earth.
