Fine bubbles and lively acidity keep the texture energetic, while a gentle leesy creaminess brings softness through the middle. A subtle savoury, briny note shapes the dry finish. About 1701 Franciacorta
1701 Franciacorta was founded in 2011 by siblings Silvia and Federico Stefini at the former Conti Bettoni Cazzago farm in Cazzago San Martino. Its name reaches further back: 1701 is the first recorded vintage from Brolo, a vineyard enclosed by eleventh-century walls.
The estate received organic certification in 2015 and Demeter biodynamic certification in 2016. In the vineyards, the team avoids synthetic fertilisers and chemical pesticides, with an emphasis on soil fertility and biodiversity.
