French Red
$104.99

Black cherry and raspberry open with dried violet and orange blossom, followed by pepper and warm spice. Domaine Philippe & Vincent Jaboulet 2018 Cornas

French Red
$119.99

Syrah comes from shallow granitic sands on a south-southeast-facing vineyard at 450 metres. The altitude brings freshness to the wine. Vinification takes place entirely in wood, followed by two years in oak barrels. The family has worked as winegrowers for six generations, and its thirty hectares lie in the northern Rhône, centred around Crozes-Hermitage. The wine carries fifteen percent alcohol.

Jean-Luc Colombo 2018 La Louvée Cornas

French Red
$124.99

Cassis and blackberry flavours retain freshness despite the wine’s concentration and richness. The Syrah is full bodied, with savoury smoke, nut and iron. Integrated oak and fine, delicate tannins are also present. Fruit comes from a single parcel on granite in Cornas. The grapes are hand picked and destemmed. Temperature-controlled maceration lasts one month. Ageing lasts twenty-two months in oak, fifteen percent new.

Domaine du Coulet 2021 Cornas Ogre

French Red
$199.99

Sourced from a particularly mineral parcel at Le Serre, the wine is entirely Syrah, grown at 350 metres on heavily degraded granite. Vinification and eighteen months of ageing take place in ovoid and diamond-shaped concrete vessels. The documented profile is highly spiced, tart-fruited and smoky, with granitic aromatics, very fine tannins and an exceptionally fresh finish.

Mark Haisma 2022 Cornas

French Red
$116.99

Dark cherry and plum lead with blackberry, sage and a touch of white pepper. The palate is medium-bodied, fresh and concentrated, with creamy tannins surrounding the ripe fruit. Smoky bacon and savoury spice add depth without heaviness, and the finish remains long, vibrant and distinctly mineral.
