Dow’s 1970 Vintage Port

$349.99

Plum and liquorice meet almond, marzipan and a hint of orange in this richly flavoured Vintage Port. Floral notes lift the fruit, while a mineral edge adds definition. Dow’s 1970 balances power with finesse in a generous, concentrated style. Serve a small glass with blue cheese, toasted walnuts or a dark chocolate dessert.

About Dow's
Dow’s began with the Port business founded by Bruno da Silva in 1798; the house later took the name of James Ramsay Dow, who joined in the nineteenth century. The Symington family began managing the house in 1912 and became sole owners in 1961, with five generations of family winemakers contributing to its history. Its two principal Douro estates are Quinta do Bomfim, on south-facing slopes near Pinhão, and Quinta da Senhora da Ribeira, farther east. Dow’s is known for a relatively dry style of Vintage Port, alongside single-estate bottlings, wood-aged Ports and Late Bottled Vintage.
