Rocco di Carpeneto 2022 Lilàn Rosato
$46.99
This still rosé is light and fruity, made entirely from Dolcetto. The vineyard is cropped below fifty quintals per hectare. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel with the skins of unfermented white grapes. Maturation lasts at least twelve months in stainless steel or large used barrels. The cuvée name is a nineteenth-century Carpeneto dialect term for a childhood nickname of the grape. The wine is produced organically, and alcohol is thirteen and a half percent.

About Rocco di Carpeneto
Lidia Carbonetti and Paolo Baretta left Milan to establish Rocco di Carpeneto in 2008–2009, among the vineyards of Alto Monferrato’s Carpeneto plateau. Many of their vineyard parcels were planted between 1955 and 1986, with native southern Piedmont varieties at the heart of their work.
They keep permanent grass cover, harvest by hand and limit copper and sulphur treatments in the vineyards. In the cellar, fermentation begins with naturally occurring yeasts, and the wines are bottled without fining or filtration. Their three-level cellar, completed in 2011–2012, houses older wooden vessels, amphorae, concrete and steel for different lots.
