Michael David Winery 2017 Freakshow Zinfandel
American Red
Ripe red berries, cherry and darker fruit lead into cracked pepper and warm spice. The palate is medium-bodied, with fine tannins shaping the fruit while toasted oak adds savoury depth. A lingering spiced finish keeps the wine lively and composed. The Lodi-grown Zinfandel is full enough for grilled meat yet balanced enough to serve with burgers, barbecue or firm aged cheese.
Ferdinand Wines 2020 Albariño Can 375 mL
American White
Lime zest and salinity meet yellow apple, lemon, banana and pineapple in this California white. The palate is savoury and rounded, with natural acidity and freshness. Albariño from Lodi is barrel fermented and spends eight months on its lees. Creamy notes sit alongside the fruit, while the compact 375-millilitre can provides the explicitly acquired single-can format.
Leaping Horse 2021 Chardonnay
American White
Medium-bodied and pale yellow, with citrus, green apple, pear and tropical-fruit aromas and flavours. Lemon zest and tight mineral character appear in a refreshing finish. The Chardonnay comes from Lodi and spends five months in new French oak. Alcohol is thirteen and a half percent. The fruit is drawn from sustainably farmed vineyards, where cover crops, drip irrigation and organic materials are among the vineyard practices.
St. Amant 2021 Mohr-Fry Ranch Old Vine Zinfandel
American Red
Red fruit leads the nose, with dried strawberry joined by black coffee, forest floor, black pepper and oak. The palate is full and mouth-coating, carried by integrated acidity and the generous fruit expected from old vines. Cinnamon and clove add sweet spice through the middle, while pepper, oak and red fruit continue into a firm, savoury finish.
