Viña Alicia 2006 Cuarzo Petit Verdot Luján de Cuyo
$94.99
Led by Petit Verdot with small additions of Grenache and Carignan, this is a deep, structured red with earthy black fruit, wild hedgerow and subtle woodland notes. The palate is powerful but finely balanced, with dense fruit, firm seamless tannins and a mineral freshness that keeps the wine composed. A long, measured finish and savoury complexity make it well suited to roasted or slow-braised meats.

About Viña Alicia
Alicia Mateu Arizu and her son Rodrigo began releasing wines as Viña Alicia in 1998, following years of family research and experimentation in Mendoza. The estate works with two vineyards in Luján de Cuyo: San Alberto, surrounding the winery, and a high-altitude site at Las Compuertas.
Irrigation water comes from the Andes, feeding vines on alluvial soils through the region’s dry, sunny growing conditions. Alongside Cabernet varieties, Merlot and Petit Verdot, the family grows less common Argentine plantings such as Nebbiolo, Albariño and Savagnin, making wines in small lots from selected blocks.
