Los Danzantes Still Strength Espadín Mezcal

Leather and ripe strawberry open an arresting nose, followed by green herbs, pine and a clean thread of smoke. The palate is full and energetic at still strength, with pineapple bringing brightness before musk, bitter caramel and cedar add depth. Made from Espadín agave and rested in glass before bottling, it shows both intensity and control. The finish is warm and persistent, carrying smoke, herbs and gentle chile heat.

About Los Danzantes
Brothers Gustavo and Jaime Muñoz founded Los Danzantes with winemaker Hugo D’Acosta in 1996. The following year they acquired a disused mezcal distillery in Santiago Matatlán, Oaxaca, and made it their production home. Master mezcalera Karina Abad now leads production.
Agave is cooked in an underground wood-fired oven, crushed with a traditional milling wheel, then naturally fermented in wooden vats before two distillations in copper stills. The distillery’s gravity-led design lets materials move between stages with less handling.
