Anthony Buchanan 2025 Pinot Gris Rouge

Made entirely from Pinot Gris, this very small-batch skin-contact wine spends two weeks on its skins and has a juicy character. Fermentation relies on indigenous yeast naturally present in the vineyard and cellar, with minimal sulphite additions. Gentle cellar techniques avoid enzymes, added tannins, manipulation products and temperature control. The wine is unfined and receives little to no filtration.

About Anthony Buchanan
Anthony Buchanan began working in Vancouver Island and Okanagan cellars in 2006, introducing his own label eight years later. The winery opened in Kaleden in 2022 on a leased six-acre vineyard owned by Rick and Pam Benwick. Old Chardonnay, Gewürztraminer and Pinot Gris vines anchor the property, which Buchanan began moving toward organic farming in 2020.
Small-lot work lets each harvest guide the wines instead of forcing them through a fixed cellar recipe. Indigenous yeasts, minimal sulphites and an absence of enzymes or temperature control define the general approach. The wines are left unfined and see little or no filtration.
