Au Bon Climat 2018 La Bauge Au-dessus Pinot Noir

$74.99

Black cherry and cranberry lead, with rose petal, earth and sweet spice adding aromatic detail. The palate is supple and composed, balancing generous fruit, polished oak, fresh acidity and fine tannins without losing its elegance. Enjoy now after a brief decant, or cellar, and pair with roast duck, mushrooms or herb-crusted pork.

About Au Bon Climat
Jim Clendenen and Adam Tolmach founded Au Bon Climat with the 1982 harvest in Santa Barbara County. Their aim was restrained, age-worthy Pinot Noir and Chardonnay inspired by Burgundy. Its name, a French idiom for “a good place,” points to the cool Pacific air, marine soils and east-west valleys that shape the region. Hand-picking, barrel fermentation, ageing on the lees and extended time in François Frères barrels are among its cellar practices. Following Clendenen's death in 2021, his children Isabelle and Knox and long-serving winemaker Jim Adelman have continued his work.
