Scorched earth opens the nose before toasted hazelnut, forest floor, dried herbs and a faint floral note emerge. Full-bodied yet elegant, the palate brings cranberry, star anise and orange zest into focus. Tightly knit, fine-grained tannins provide structure, while a saline edge lengthens the finish and rewards patient cellaring.

About Azelia
Azelia’s story begins in 1920 in Castiglione Falletto, when Cavalier Lorenzo Scavino began vinifying grapes from the family’s vineyards. His son Alfonso began bottling the wines, which later reached export markets. Today Luigi Scavino works with his wife Lorella and son Lorenzo, the fifth generation at the estate.
Azelia farms about 16 hectares across Castiglione Falletto, Serralunga d’Alba and Montelupo Albese, devoted to Dolcetto, Barbera and, above all, Nebbiolo. The old vines give naturally low yields, reduced further by green harvesting, and most vineyard work is carried out by hand.
