About Donnafugata
Giacomo Rallo and Gabriella Anca Rallo founded Donnafugata in 1983, building a new Sicilian winery from their families’ agricultural experience. Their children José and Antonio later assumed leading roles, and a further generation now participates in the family enterprise. The name Donnafugata draws on Sicilian literature and history, while the winery’s work extends across several separate island estates. Marsala, Contessa Entellina, Pantelleria, Etna and Vittoria each provide distinct geographic settings and are not collapsed into one generic origin. The portfolio includes native Sicilian grapes alongside selected international varieties, with methods and farming practices varying by estate and wine. Donnafugata now links its western Sicilian base with estates on Etna, Pantelleria, Contessa Entellina and Vittoria.
