Ripe plum, blackcurrant and blackberry meet liquorice, graphite and a smoky, toasted note. The palate is concentrated yet composed, with savoury depth, firm grainy tannins and mineral freshness holding the mature fruit in shape. Cedar and warm spice build through a long, refined finish that remains powerful without feeling heavy.

About Cos d'Estournel
The pagodas of Cos d’Estournel rise above its gravel vineyards in Saint-Estèphe. They reflect Louis Gaspard d’Estournel’s trade with India after he inherited the estate in 1791. Cos was named a Second Growth in the 1855 Classification, two years after his death.
Cabernet Sauvignon accounts for roughly two-thirds of the hundred-hectare vineyard, with Merlot the main companion and smaller plantings of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Nearly twenty soil types were mapped in 2001, allowing the team to adapt its farming to individual plots. The cellar uses a gravity-fed vat room.
