About Bocale
Montefalco has shaped the Valentini family's work for more than a century, beginning with farming, vine growing and olive milling on the Alzatura hill around 1920. In 2002, a younger generation renewed that agricultural tradition by founding Bocale. The name carries both the family's local nickname and a dialect word for a two-litre vessel used for wine or oil.
Bocale is a small family-run estate, with Sagrantino at its heart alongside Sangiovese and Montefalco's other traditional grapes.
