About San Giusto a Rentennano
San Giusto a Rentennano occupies a former medieval monastery in the southern reaches of Chianti Classico, a site fortified in 1204. The property entered the Martini di Cigala family in 1914; after a generational transition in 1992, six siblings now share responsibility for the estate. All of the fruit comes from the estate, with Sangiovese at the centre.
Work toward organic certification started in 2001, and the vineyards and wider farm have been certified since 2006. The farm uses compost. The cellar uses concrete, stainless steel and oak across its wines.
