AboutTatenokawa

Tatenokawa’s roots go back to 1832 in Sakata, in Yamagata’s Shonai region. The business began trading sake in 1854 and took the Tatenokawa name the following year. Since 2010, its sake range has been entirely Junmai Daiginjo, made from highly polished rice without added brewing alcohol. The brewery favours Yamagata-grown rice.

Tatenokawa 33 Junmai Daiginjo

Japanese Sake
$97.99
Gentle but expressive ripe-fruit aromas open toward apple, white peach and honeydew. The palate is silky and graceful, combining pure fruit with a fine thread of rice sweetness and a clear, savoury umami core. Subtle herbal notes add definition without interrupting the smooth texture. The finish is long, polished and quietly persistent. Serve slightly chilled with sashimi, crab, scallops, grilled white fish or delicate vegetable dishes.
