Brandy-soaked cherry, dried cherry, Italian prune plum, sage, oak spice and earthy secondary notes define the profile. The palate is softer, with less acidity and tannin than the preceding release. Butterscotch oak and alcohol warmth appear in the finish. The Merlot comes from an estate vineyard on benchland in the Similkameen Valley, where the winery matures its red wines in French oak barrels.

Canadian Rosé
Made entirely from Pinot Noir, this dry rosé is medium-bodied and unoaked. The wine comes from the Similkameen Valley in British Columbia, Canada, and carries 13.8 percent alcohol. A screwcap closes the bottle. Harvest in Cawston began two weeks later than usual after a slow, cool start to the growing season. The winery's aromatic whites and rosés from that season show bright, mineral-driven profiles with above-average fruit intensity.
