Dave Cuttino founded Reservoir Distillery in Richmond, Virginia, in 2008. Its original range explores one grain at a time: a rye whiskey made entirely from rye, a bourbon made entirely from corn and a whiskey made entirely from wheat. Later blends and cask finishes build on those beginnings. Head distiller Mary Allison leads the Richmond production team, working with Virginia grain and regional barrel wood.

American Whiskey
Warm caramel and vanilla lead a generous aroma, with toasted grain, orange peel and baking spice adding lift. The palate is smooth and balanced, combining rounded corn sweetness with rye-derived spice and a firm but measured oak frame. A subtle cocoa note appears through the middle before the texture turns dry and composed. The finish is warming and persistent. Serve neat, over a large cube, or in an Old Fashioned.

Sweet corn, vanilla and toast lead the nose, with chalk and light oak adding a dry counterpoint. The palate is rounded and full, showing caramelized vanilla, buttered corn and warm baking spice over a dense grain texture. A corn-only mash keeps the profile naturally sweet, while small-barrel maturation supplies oak grip and concentration. The finish is steady and warming, with corn, vanilla, toast and gentle spice lingering. Serve neat or with a small measure of water to open the sweeter grain notes.
Reservoir Rye Whiskey

Honey and crème brûlée open the nose, followed by orange peel, rye spice and a faint yeasty note. The palate is grain-forward and concentrated, with dark chocolate, anise and black pepper building over firm oak. Burnt sugar and cedar add depth while a light floral tone keeps the structure from feeling heavy. Made from a rye-only mash, it carries the grain's dry, assertive character clearly. The finish turns toward cola, molasses and warming spice. Serve neat or in a spirit-forward Manhattan.
