AboutMamete Prevostini

The Prevostini family’s wine story began in Mese, where Mamete’s grandparents made wine and local food for travellers early in the twentieth century. Mamete began releasing wines under his own name in 1995.

His Valtellina Nebbiolo comes from steep Alpine terraces supported by dry-stone walls, with most grapes harvested by hand. In Postalesio, a three-level gravity-flow cellar places grape drying and crushing, fermentation, and maturation on separate floors.

Mamete Prevostini 2024 Botonero Alpi Retiche Rosso

Italian Red
$48.99

Bright ruby colour with moderate transparency accompanies cherry, currant, strawberry, rose and violet. The flavour is fresh and the wine is medium-bodied. Nebbiolo grows in the province of Sondrio on south-facing sites between 300 and 700 metres, over sandy and silty decomposed granite. Skin maceration lasts six days. The wine undergoes malolactic fermentation and about eight months of maturation in stainless steel.

Mamete Prevostini 2017 La Cruus Valtellina Superiore Inferno DOCG

Italian Red
$81.99

Red sour cherry and ripe berry fruit meet dried flowers, savoury spice and a clear mineral line. The palate is full-bodied yet fresh, with warm, velvety tannins supporting the fruit rather than weighing it down. Intensity and alpine lift remain in balance through a harmonious, persistent finish.

Mamete Prevostini 2015 Albareda Sforzato di Valtellina

Italian Red
$131.99

Ripe red and dark fruit open into liquorice, alpine herbs, mint and cocoa. The palate is full-bodied and enveloping, with concentrated fruit, well-integrated tannins and a savoury saline thread that keeps the richness composed. The finish is long, balanced and quietly powerful. Decant before serving with braised beef, venison, aged hard cheese or mushroom ragu.

Mamete Prevostini 2013 Corte di Cama Sforzato di Valtellina DOCG
