AboutJean-Claude Ramonet
Pierre Ramonet began making wine in Chassagne-Montrachet in the late 1920s, buying grapes while gradually acquiring vineyard parcels. His purchase of Les Ruchottes in 1934 was followed by further Premier and Grand Cru holdings.
The domaine’s Burgundy wines include Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Aligoté, with both red and white Chassagne-Montrachet among them. A parcel bought in Bouzeron in 2011 added another Aligoté wine to the range.
Jean-Claude Ramonet 2022 Chassagne-Montrachet Rouge
Vibrant red cherry and wild strawberry lead, with subtle earth and sweet spice adding quiet depth. The palate is pure and focused, shaped by silky tannins and a fine mineral line rather than weight. Freshness carries the fruit into a polished, lingering finish. Serve with roast duck, mushroom dishes or herb-roasted poultry.
Jean-Claude Ramonet 2019 Bourgogne Aligoté
Pale straw in colour, this Aligoté offers spicy aromas with lime, vanilla and white fruit. Apple and lemon accompany pure fruit on a bone-dry palate, with focused minerality, a fleshy middle and bright acidity. Saline notes are also present. The structure is sharp and lively, with substance and balance, and the wine contains twelve and a half percent alcohol.
Jean-Claude Ramonet 2023 Bourgogne Aligoté
Lemon thistle, river stone and crunchy pear appear over a layer of downy lees. A reductive thread runs through the profile. The finish brings wild meadow grass and ample flake salt. Aligoté comes from vines planted in nineteen fifty-six and nineteen sixty-three. The wine is intense yet restrained, with twelve and a half percent alcohol. Its slender frame combines lightness with complexity.
Jean-Claude Ramonet 2019 Bouzeron Aligoté
Fresh and bright Aligoté aromas and spice accompany rich, dense and sweet flavours. The palate is mouthwatering, with a hint of vanilla, a silky texture and a light-bodied frame. Natural acidity balances the density and weight of the warm growing season. Stony and saline notes recall a clean oyster shell, and subtle spice appears on the tightly woven finish.
