Peat smoke and sea salt lead the nose, followed by vanilla, honey and a leathery depth. The palate is classically Islay in shape: smoky and maritime, but rounded by sweet oak and a measured layer of spice. Maturation in bourbon and virgin American oak casks gives the whisky both creamy sweetness and firmer toasted structure. The finish is warming and persistent, with smoke, brine and vanilla returning. Serve neat or add a few drops of water.
