AboutFiuza

Fiuza’s roots in the Tejo stretch back more than a century, through the Mascarenhas Fiuza family and its estates around Santarém. In the mid-1980s, Joaquim Mascarenhas Fiuza partnered with Australian winemaker Peter Bright to explore international varieties alongside Portuguese grapes.

Today the family-run winery works from Almeirim with fruit from two estates, across clay, alluvial sand and clay-limestone soils. Touriga Nacional, Arinto, Fernão Pires and Alvarinho sit alongside Alicante Bouschet, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and other international grapes.

Fiuza 2022 Oceanus Reserva Touriga Nacional & Alicante Bouschet

Portuguese Red
$26.99

Deep ruby colour introduces aromas of violet and red fruit with notes of wood. The palate is full-bodied, with balanced acidity, velvety tannins and a long, structured finish. Touriga Nacional and Alicante Bouschet grow on clay-limestone soils in the Tejo region. Vinification includes a pre-fermentation maceration for aromatic extraction and supple tannins. The wine contains between thirteen and fourteen percent alcohol.
