AboutBarbadillo

Bodegas Barbadillo began in 1821, when Benigno Barbadillo y Ortigüela and his cousin Manuel López Barbadillo settled in Sanlúcar de Barrameda after returning from Mexico and acquired the El Toro cellar. Six years later, the house shipped manzanilla to Philadelphia and introduced Pastora.

Barbadillo’s cellars sit near the Guadalquivir estuary and the Atlantic. La Arboledilla, built in 1876, uses height, orientation and ventilation to support the biological ageing of manzanilla. The range includes sherry, brandy and still wines, with Palomino as the house’s foundational grape.
