AboutAdega Cooperativa de Vidigueira, Cuba e Alvito
Founded in 1960, Adega Cooperativa de Vidigueira, Cuba e Alvito brought local growers together around the vineyards and wine culture of three neighbouring Alentejo municipalities. Antão Vaz is central to that heritage, with the local white variety serving as both a regional signature and an important part of the cellar’s identity.
At Casa das Talhas, the cooperative shares the Alentejo tradition of fermenting and storing wine in clay vessels known as talhas. The winery also tells the story of Vasco da Gama’s voyage to India through a seven-part wine series.

Black fruit and ripe tannins define a rich, polished profile. Trincadeira and Alicante Bouschet form the blend, and the wine contains 14 percent alcohol. Grapes are harvested by hand and fermented at controlled temperature. Maturation lasts six months in French and American oak. Red fruit, cocoa and vanilla are also present in the profile. The wine comes from Alentejo in Portugal.
