A Sunday in August
A Sunday in August 2025 Carbonic Orange
Fresh, aromatic tropical fruit leads a bright, lightly textured palate. A blend of Epicure and Siegerrebe receives a short maceration, giving the wine gentle grip while preserving lift and immediacy. The fruit stays vivid through a clean, lively finish, with enough structure for the table. Serve well chilled with mezze, grilled vegetables, soft cheeses or lightly spiced dishes.
A Sunday in August 2025 Lilypond Pinot Noir
Fresh cherry and raspberry sit over a light floral and herbal lift. The palate is supple and energetic, with semi-carbonic fermentation giving the fruit a bright, immediate feel rather than heavy extraction. Gentle savoury notes from a short rest in neutral barrel add shape, while lively acidity carries the red fruit into a clean, lightly textured finish.
A Sunday in August Piquette Rouge 355 mL
Bright red fruit and a gentle spritz give this light piquette an easy, refreshing character. Merlot and Cabernet Franc grape skins are rehydrated, then fermented with a little wine and organic honey to build flavour without heaviness. The palate is lively, layered and dry-leaning, with a clean finish. Serve ice cold with picnic snacks, charcuterie, grilled vegetables or casual summer fare.
A Sunday in August 2020 Piquette Rouge
Fuzzy cherry candy, bramble, blackberry and flowers rise from a light, bright red with lively acidity. Rehydrated pomace from Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Zweigelt is macerated, blended with fermenting juice, then aged before a honey-driven secondary fermentation. The result is gently rustic, refreshing and just over seven percent alcohol. Serve chilled with charcuterie, picnic food, grilled vegetables or roast chicken.
A Sunday in August 2017 Pinot Noir
Bright, crunchy cranberry appears with funky, savoury mushroom. The Pinot Noir fruit came from the Similkameen Valley in British Columbia. The small project was officially launched that year, following its first wines made under another winery’s licence. Its founding approach centred on natural wine from organically and biodynamically farmed grapes sourced within British Columbia. The label’s guiding principles included supporting local organic growers, natural fermentation and small-batch production.
A Sunday in August 2022 Peachland Pinot Noir
Brambly raspberry and strawberry meet bright acidity and balanced tannins in this organically farmed Pinot Noir. The fruit comes from a single vineyard in Peachland, British Columbia. Natural fermentation follows fourteen days of semi-carbonic maceration, with a short élevage in neutral oak. Bottling is unfined and unfiltered with thirty parts per million of sulphur. Production totalled 250 cases, at 13.4 percent alcohol.
A Sunday in August 2025 Pinot Gris
Watermelon-candy fruit meets a fresh, rounded texture in this Pinot Gris, which includes a dash of Gewurztraminer. The fruit comes from Kelowna in British Columbia and is organically farmed. Natural fermentation follows five days of maceration, and élevage takes place in stainless steel. The wine is bottled unfined and unfiltered, with low sulfur and nothing else added.
A Sunday in August 2024 Pinot Gris
Dark pink in colour, the wine is dense and concentrated, with watermelon and candied-strawberry character. Pinot Gris comes from Johan Vineyard in Oregon’s Willamette Valley, where the fruit is certified biodynamic and regeneratively farmed. The grapes are pressed directly, fermented naturally and raised in a neutral oak puncheon. The wine is bottled unfined and unfiltered with twenty-five parts per million of sulfur.
A Sunday in August 2021 Pinot Blanc Pétillant Naturel
Organic Pinot Blanc is destemmed, then kept as whole berries for five days of semi-carbonic maceration. Fermentation begins with ambient yeast, and the wine is bottled before primary fermentation finishes. Five months on the lees precede disgorgement. No fining or filtration is used, and sulfur is limited to twenty parts per million. Tangerine-creamsicle fruit sits within a bright, structured profile.
A Sunday in August 2024 Island Vibes
Red cherry, raspberry and strawberry accompany a light, bright profile with low tannins and refreshing acidity. Ortega and Foch are co-fermented from certified-organic fruit grown on the Saanich Peninsula. The grapes spend ten days on skins before pressing into stainless steel. The wine is bottled unfined and unfiltered, with only a trace of sulphur added. Production totalled 250 cases.
A Sunday in August Sparkling Chardonnay
Citrus, green apple, light pear and subtle biscuit form the profile. Fine, steady bubbles give a gentle lift across the palate, while bright acidity supports a crisp, lighter style. A clean citrus note appears at the end with a mild almond tone. Made in British Columbia from Chardonnay, this sparkling wine is suited to oysters, fried chicken, smoked salmon or goat cheese.
A Sunday in August 2024 Johan Vineyard Pinot Noir
Deep red cherry and spice define the profile, with a velvety texture and a very long finish. The Pinot Noir comes from Dijon clones 114, 115 and 667 at Johan Vineyard. The grapes are certified biodynamic and regeneratively farmed. Forty percent is whole cluster and sixty percent is destemmed. Élevage takes place in neutral 500-litre puncheons and 225-litre barriques.
A Sunday in August Gulf Island Vermouth
Bright citrus peel and fresh coastal herbs shape a lively, aromatic nose, with a soft floral note adding lift. The palate is dry and lightly textured, carrying subtle orchard fruit beneath layered botanical bitterness. A clean saline suggestion keeps the profile energetic, while the citrus returns through a crisp, gently bitter finish. Serve chilled over ice with a citrus twist, or use it in a lighter Negroni-style aperitif alongside olives, fresh cheese or simple seafood.
A Sunday in August 2025 Rosé
Wild strawberry and red cherry lead, with a faint floral note and a lightly savoury, reductive edge adding detail. The palate is delicate and juicy, carried by bright, well-balanced acidity and a clear mineral line. Dry, light and refreshing through the finish, it pairs naturally with grilled prawns, tomato salads, soft cheeses or a simple charcuterie board.
A Sunday in August 2025 Cabernet Franc
Blackberry and blackcurrant lead, joined by bramble, graphite and a light herbal lift. The palate is medium-bodied and lively, with fresh acidity shaping dark fruit and fine, measured tannins. A savoury mineral note carries into the clean finish, making this restrained, Loire-inspired red a natural match for grilled mushrooms, roast poultry or charcuterie.
