Watermelon-candy fruit meets a fresh, rounded texture in this Pinot Gris, which includes a dash of Gewurztraminer. The fruit comes from Kelowna in British Columbia and is organically farmed. Natural fermentation follows five days of maceration, and élevage takes place in stainless steel. The wine is bottled unfined and unfiltered, with low sulfur and nothing else added.
A Sunday in August 2024 Pinot Gris
Dark pink in colour, the wine is dense and concentrated, with watermelon and candied-strawberry character. Pinot Gris comes from Johan Vineyard in Oregon’s Willamette Valley, where the fruit is certified biodynamic and regeneratively farmed. The grapes are pressed directly, fermented naturally and raised in a neutral oak puncheon. The wine is bottled unfined and unfiltered with twenty-five parts per million of sulfur.
Ursa Major 2022 Sham Savere Riesling Pinot Gris
Riesling and Pinot Gris form this white blend from Stoneface Vineyard on the Naramata Bench. The steep site faces southwest and has been farmed organically since the current team took over its lease. The project uses sustainable cellar practices and focuses on purity, place and varietal character. The wine was part of the vineyard’s debut collection alongside a Gamay release.
Sage Hills 2020 Ancestral Method Pinot Gris
Estate-grown Pinot Gris comes from thirteen-year-old vines in sandy clay loam. Half the fruit was whole-cluster direct pressed, while half was destemmed; fermentation took place in stainless steel. Bottled during primary fermentation, the wine spent twelve months on lees before hand disgorgement, with no dosage or added sulphites. Bright red fruit, cherry, raspberry and grapefruit appear in a dry sparkling profile.
Sage Hills 2022 Barrel Fermented Pinot Gris
Buttery citrus and bright acidity shape this Pinot Gris. Estate fruit was harvested on October 23 and whole-cluster pressed. A combination of new light-toast French oak and neutral oak was used, with bâtonnage limited to the new-oak portion. The wine spent seven months on lees in barrel, received minimal sulphites, and was bottled unfined and unfiltered.
Maison Noir 2019 O.P.P. Pinot Gris
Apples, pears and peaches lead the fresh profile. Fruit is sourced from several Willamette Valley vineyards and combines grapes from multiple appellations, giving the wine breadth, complexity and several layers. This is an Oregon white made from Pinot Gris, with thirteen-point-six percent alcohol. The bottle is finished with a screw-cap closure. The winery was founded by sommelier Andre Hueston Mack, a former Per Se and French Laundry sommelier.
Alois Lageder 2014 Porer Pinot Grigio
Brilliant straw yellow with a green shimmer, the wine is aromatic and opulent, with pronounced mineral notes and oak spice. Clean, grapey flavours sit in a full-bodied, soft and creamy texture. The finish is fresh, and the wine is long and aromatic on the palate. Dried apple, lime and lemon are also present, with tangy acidity and a lemon-rind aftertaste.
Maison Kuehn Crémant d’Alsace Extra Brut Cuvée 1675
Pastel yellow with golden reflections, this sparkling wine carries fine, regular bubbles. Toast, roasted notes and dried fruit accompany hazelnut and fresh butter. The grapes are hand-harvested and pressed whole. A first fermentation takes place in tank, while the second occurs in bottle by the traditional method. The blend includes Pinot Auxerrois, Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir.
Gustave Lorentz 2023 Pinot Gris Réserve
Pale yellow, bright and clean, this Pinot Gris offers wild peach, pear and white fruit. The palate is generous and medium-bodied, with a mouth-filling texture, balanced acidity and a dry finish. Grapes from hillside vineyards around Bergheim are hand-picked and whole pressed. Fermentation uses natural and selected yeasts in stainless steel, followed by two rackings and six months in tank.
Cantina Terlano 2025 Pinot Grigio
Light straw yellow in colour, the wine carries grapefruit, white peach, lychee and floral notes. The palate is rounded and soft, with harmonious acidity, black-tea spice, melon, mango and fine minerality. Grapes are hand-picked and selected, then gently whole-cluster pressed. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel, followed by about six months on fine lees in steel.
Craven Wines 2024 Pinot Gris
Coppery colour and chalky tannin accompany Pinot Gris from the Newlands vineyard, planted on Koffieklip soil in Stellenbosch. The fruit is destemmed into concrete tanks and receives a light pump-over once daily. Skin contact lasts six days. Fermentation and ageing take place entirely in concrete, including six further months after pressing. Alcohol is 12.95 percent.
Naboso 2023 Opera Brut
Flowers, spice, pear, apricot, quince, lemon and mineral notes accompany delicate bubbles and a creamy texture. The sparkling palate is fresh and lively. Müller-Thurgau, Pinot Gris and Moravian Muscat form the white sparkling blend. Refermentation takes place in bottle, and the wine records eleven percent alcohol. Total sulphites are reported below ten milligrams per litre.
rennersistas 2024 Gewürz Orange Wine
Gewürztraminer and Pinot Gris are made as an orange wine after several days of skin contact. The profile is floral, ripe and lightly spicy, with rose and lychee. It is also fruity and aromatic. The vineyards are farmed biodynamically and hold Organic and Demeter certification. The wine comes from Burgenland, Austria, and contains 12.5 percent alcohol.
Therianthropy 2024 Endless Rosé
Merlot accounts for fifty-four percent of the blend, with thirty-seven percent Pinot Gris and nine percent Muscat. The Merlot receives nine days of carbonic maceration, while Pinot Gris and Muscat are co-fermented whole-cluster for two weeks. After seven months in stainless steel, the wine is bottled unfined and unfiltered. Production totals ninety-five cases, and alcohol is 12.2 percent.
Pépin Crémant d’Alsace Extra Brut NV
Pale straw colour and persistent bubbles accompany chalk, almond, marzipan, lemon and toasted brioche. The palate is taut and creamy, with green apple, lemon and mineral notes. The blend is thirty-five percent Auxerrois, thirty percent Pinot Gris, twenty-five percent Pinot Blanc and ten percent Chardonnay. Grapes come from clay-limestone soils. This Extra Brut spends eighteen months on lees in stainless steel.
Domaine Achillée Alsace Macéré 2022/2023
Moderate orange-yellow colour and natural turbidity accompany citrus, lemon, blood orange, peach, white pepper and conifer sap. The palate has present acidity, a slight spritz, fine tannins, bitter orange, nutmeg, cedar and a saline finish. Pinot Blanc, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Gris and Sylvaner are grown on mainly sandy-gravel soils. One third undergoes about five days of whole-cluster maceration; two thirds are direct pressed, then aged in stainless steel without filtration.
Domaine Marcel Deiss 2019 Zellenberg Alsace
Peach, quince, grapefruit, apple, tea, white flowers, wet stone and sage appear with ripe yellow fruit. Fresh acidity and a long saline finish are present. The complanted vineyards include Riesling, Auxerrois, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir. Fermentation uses indigenous yeast, and maturation lasts at least twelve months in large oak. The vineyards lie on marl and limestone conglomerates.
Domaine Marcel Deiss 2012 Engelgarten Alsace
Dry, mineral, warm and stony, the wine has a cold, vertical texture with breadth, strength and a salivating quality. Noble bitterness appears on the sharp finish. The field planting combines Riesling, Pinot Gris, Pinot Beurot, Muscat and Pinot Noir. The gravelly white soil has a marked water deficit, while the older vineyard is managed with very short pruning, ploughing and composting. Serve at 10°C.
Gustave Lorentz 1989 Pinot Gris Sélection de Grains Nobles
Mahogany colour and a deeply candied character accompany balanced sweetness and preserved-fruit notes. The fruit came from the Altenberg de Bergheim vineyard. This sweet white is made from Pinot Gris in Alsace and bears the Sélection de Grains Nobles designation. Successive selections of noble-rot-affected berries are part of the production, and this Pinot Gris style has extreme concentration.
Stargazer 2024 Tupelo White Blend
Quince, rosewater, pear and spice accompany a delicate, perfumed white. The blend draws on Pinot Gris, Riesling and Gewürztraminer grown in Tasmania’s Coal River Valley. A small amount of residual sugar remains, while the finish is dry. Green apple joins the fruit and floral notes. The still wine carries thirteen percent alcohol and uses a screwcap closure.
Domaine Zind-Humbrecht 2020 Roche Calcaire Pinot Gris
Citrus, peach, nectarine and quince sit with toasted and earthy notes. The wine has a delicate profile, moderate weight and crisp acidity, especially at the finish. Hand-harvested Pinot Gris spends twelve months on its lees. The dry style is certified organic and biodynamic, and the fruit comes from limestone-rich vineyards around Gueberschwihr and Wintzenheim in Alsace.
Cassini Cellars Quattro White Blend
White peach and tropical fruit lead, followed by apple, pear, lemon zest and a touch of orange. The palate is creamy yet fresh, with subtle minerality bringing definition through the centre. Crushed almond and gentle spice add texture without obscuring the fruit. Balanced and aromatic, it finishes cleanly with lingering citrus, orchard fruit and a composed mineral edge.
Marrow Arancio Vermouth
Lush and fruit-led, with skin-contact Pinot Gris bringing ripe orchard fruit, gentle grip and an amber-toned depth. Lavender and chamomile add soft floral lift, while rhubarb root, yarrow, sweet cicely, bitter orange and kola nut build a layered herbal bitterness beneath measured sweetness. The finish is textured, fragrant and complex. Serve chilled over ice with a lemon slice, or use it to give a Negroni or spritz a distinctly botanical edge.

Tantalus 2024 Stoneridge Vineyard Pinot Gris
Papaya and pineapple lead, with yellow flowers, orange creamsicle, damp clay and cardamom adding detail. The palate is punchy and layered, carrying gingered pear, lemon cream, almond and orchard fruit through zesty acidity. A chalky mineral note and rounded texture shape the vibrant finish, well suited to roast poultry, shellfish or creamy vegetable dishes.
Santa Julia 2024 Pinot Grigio
Sliced peach, pear and green apple lead, with melon, pineapple and delicate floral notes adding lift. The palate is medium-bodied and fresh, balancing ripe fruit with lively acidity and a smooth, clean texture. Citrus and a subtle mineral note extend the finish, making it an easy match for seafood, salads, roast chicken or mild cheeses.
Quails’ Gate 2025 Heirloom White
Peach, lemon and apricot lead, with a delicate floral lift and a subtle orchard-fruit softness. The palate is fresh and bright, balancing gentle texture with lively acidity and a clean, lightly mineral finish. Charming and understated, it is well suited to oysters, smoked salmon, white fish, sushi or a simple plate of fresh cheeses.
Tightrope 2020 Pinot Gris
Fresh-cut pear, pineapple and guava lead, with red apple, citrus peel, ginger and nutmeg adding lift and detail.
