Saint-Veran

Slow pressing excludes juice from the final pressings, and fermentation uses neither artificial yeasts nor enzymes. Ageing takes place in stainless-steel vats for six to eight months. Golden colour and green reflections accompany ripe Chardonnay, musk, white flowers and peach, with a round palate and refreshing character. The vineyards occupy Jurassic limestone at Burgundy's southern end, just north of Beaujolais.

Butter and yellow fruit accompany savoury, developed aromas. The Chardonnay is medium-bodied, with subtle acidity. Apple, pear and lemon are also present, together with a lightly sparkling first impression, richness and acidity. Maturation took place in tank. Alcohol is thirteen percent, and production reached twelve thousand bottles. This white wine comes from Saint-Véran in Burgundy, France.
