Rosso di Montalcino DOC

Bright cranberry and cherry appear with slate, flowers, spice and mint. Smooth, integrated tannins give the medium-structured palate an approachable shape. The wine is made entirely from Sangiovese Grosso grown in younger parcels around 300 metres. It spends about nine months in Slovenian and French oak, followed by approximately four months in bottle before release.

The fruit is pure, and the medium-bodied palate carries youthful, pleasant tannins. Wild cherry, raspberry and a cherry-cough-drop note are present, together with fine, chalky tannins. The wine is organically farmed and alcohol is fourteen percent. Production totalled ten thousand bottles. Fruit comes from south-facing vineyards around Montalcino, and maturation takes place in large oak barrels with limited use of barriques.

Ruby colour with violet reflections accompanies cherry, violet and orange peel. Cardamom, wild herbs and spice appear with dried flowers, cinnamon and undergrowth. The fruit is crisp and persistent. The texture is dense and silky. Smooth tannins and ample acidity accompany a long finish. Fermentation takes place in cement with indigenous yeasts, and the vines grow in sandy clay soils.

Bright red colour accompanies strawberry, sour cherry and other red berries. The palate is graceful and balanced, with young tannins, acidity and silkiness. Sangiovese comes mainly from a Sesta-area vineyard with vines nearly fifty years old. Grapes are harvested by hand in September, fermented spontaneously without added yeast and macerated for eighteen days in temperature-controlled oak vats. Maturation lasts fifteen months in tonneaux.
