AboutTerralsole

Terralsole is the family-owned Montalcino estate of Mario Bollag and Athena Tergis Bollag, who share a love of wine, art and music. Mario began building the estate in 1996, and the first Terralsole Brunello was released in 2000. Its twelve hectares lie across Pian Bossolino and Fonte Lattaia, two sites with different soils, elevations and exposures in southern Montalcino.

The family farms organically, using cover crops and natural fertilizers, with Sangiovese Grosso at the centre of its wines. Grapes are picked by hand and moved through the cellar by gravity; French-oak vessels of different sizes are chosen to suit each wine.

Production comprised twelve thousand bottles.

Terralsole 2016 Rosso di Montalcino DOC

Italian Red
$77.99

Violet, mature plum and scorched earth lead the nose, with measured French-oak notes. The palate is elegant and composed, bringing ripe black cherry, vanilla and mocha across a firm but fine-grained tannic frame. Savoury earth and dark fruit remain balanced through a polished, gently drying finish.
