Carmignano
Capezzana 2007 Villa di Capezzana Carmignano
Cherries and savoury red liquorice meet black plum, spice and tobacco. The palate is rich and warm, with a long, intense finish. The blend is eighty percent Sangiovese and twenty percent Cabernet Sauvignon. Fruit comes from a west- and southwest-facing site with clay and schist over limestone. The estate covers 104 hectares and belongs to the Contini Bonacossi family.
Capezzana 2010 Villa di Trefiano Carmignano Riserva
Ripe red fruit leads with violet, cherry and a measured cocoa-spice note. The palate is balanced and structured, with enough softness to keep the wine composed rather than severe. Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon give it both Tuscan lift and a darker, firmer centre. The finish is harmonious and persistent, carrying ripe fruit, spice and cocoa with steady, well-integrated depth.
