Castell’In Villa 2022 Gazzarina Toscana

This pure Sangiovese red is slender and tonic, with youthful fruit and freshness. The grapes receive a short maceration to preserve their lively character, and the wine can be served lightly chilled at thirteen to fourteen degrees. It comes from Tuscany under the Toscana IGT designation, contains 13.5 percent alcohol, and is bottled as a still red wine.

About Castell’in Villa
Castell’in Villa occupies a medieval hamlet near Castelnuovo Berardenga, on the southern side of Chianti Classico. Coralia Pignatelli della Leonessa and her husband Riccardo acquired the property in the late 1960s, developing a working farm around its historic tower, vineyards, olives and grain. Coralia made traditionally handled Sangiovese the estate’s central concern.
Its Chianti Classico draws on eight vineyard sites at roughly 230 to 360 metres, with varied exposures, soils and microclimates. The Chianti Classico ferments naturally and matures in large Slavonian and French oak casks. The cellar also holds an extensive library of older vintages.
