Carpineto 2016 Farnito Cabernet Sauvignon
$50.99
Smoked meat, spice, dark fruit, blackberry and leather appear with polished tannins and length. The wine is made entirely from Cabernet Sauvignon grown in Tuscany. Grapes come from the Gaville and Chianciano-Montepulciano vineyards. Parcels are vinified separately, then blended after malolactic fermentation. Maturation includes ten to twelve months in small oak barriques and at least eight months in bottle.

About Carpineto
Giovanni Carlo Sacchet and Antonio Mario Zaccheo founded Carpineto in 1967 at Dudda, near Greve in Chianti, with Sangiovese at the heart of their work. They paid close attention to vineyard sites and vine selection, kept yields low and experimented in the cellar with native yeasts and small oak barrels.
The two families now work across five Tuscan estates, from Chianti Classico and Montepulciano to Montalcino, Maremma and Alto Valdarno. Their environmental work includes renewable energy and precision farming, using technology to guide decisions in the vineyards.
