Cascina Tavijn 2023 Bandita

$49.99

Deep ruby colour with violet shadows accompanies red fruit, forest floor, wet earth and herbal tones. The wine is intense, with strong acidity and a long earthy persistence. Old vines grow on calcareous ground at 260 metres. Grapes are harvested by hand, ferment spontaneously with indigenous yeasts and macerate for about two months before maturation in steel.

About Cascina Tavijn
Four generations of the Verrua family have farmed Cascina Tavijn in Scurzolengo, in the hills of Monferrato. Nadia Verrua joined her parents, Teresa and Ottavio, around 2000 and began bottling the family’s wines, which had previously been sold in demijohns. Grignolino, Barbera and Ruchè are central to the vineyards, which are farmed organically. In the cellar, Nadia works with spontaneous fermentation, little added sulphur and no filtration.
