Scarpa 2022 Monferrato Bianco Timorasso

$49.99

Timorasso grows at the I Bricchi estate, near Castel Rocchero and Acqui Terme, at about 380 metres. The soils are mainly clay with a small sandy component. The fruit receives roughly twenty hours of cool skin contact before stainless-steel fermentation and ageing, with regular bâtonnage. White flowers, citrus, ripe yellow fruit, saffron and flint accompany lively acidity and persistent minerality.

About Scarpa
Antonio Scarpa founded his winery in Nizza Monferrato in 1900. Mario Pesce bought it in 1949 after studying in Burgundy and Alsace, bringing careful harvesting, separate winemaking for different lots and ageing in large casks to the cellar. In 1969, Carlo Castino acquired the 25-hectare Poderi Bricchi estate between Castel Rocchero and Acqui Terme. Its plantings include Barbera, Freisa, Ruchè and Timorasso. Scarpa expanded into the Langhe in 2018, while keeping its historic Nizza cellars and long periods of maturation before release.
