Tiberio 2021 Fonte Canale Trebbiano d’Abruzzo

Trebbiano Abruzzese comes from a 1.5-hectare vineyard at 350 metres, with ninety-six-year-old vines on calcareous clay over sand. Only static free-run juice is used. Fermentation with indigenous yeasts takes place in stainless steel without malolactic fermentation; the wine is neither fined nor filtered. Green apple, nectarine, mandarin, lemon peel, white flowers, anise, mineral character, acidity and a long finish are present.

About Tiberio
Agricola Tiberio began in 2000, when Riccardo Tiberio bought an old Trebbiano Abruzzese parcel near Cugnoli. The first vintage followed in 2004. His children took over in 2008: Antonio oversees the vineyards, while Cristiana leads winemaking and has been solely responsible for the cellar since 2011.
The estate’s roughly 30 hectares of vines grow on limestone and clay-rich soils in Abruzzo, at 330 to 380 metres. Trebbiano Abruzzese, Pecorino and Montepulciano grow on vines ranging from roughly 25 to 90 years old. Cellar work favours indigenous yeasts, stainless steel and limited intervention.
