Bitter orange opens a velvety, aromatic amaro, followed by cinchona, gentian and rhubarb. Pine, eucalyptus and citrus sharpen the herbal centre, while honey and caramel provide enough richness to keep the bitterness measured. The palate is complex but composed, moving between cooling herbs, gentle spice and dark sweetness before finishing clean and pleasantly bitter. Serve neat or over ice after dinner, lengthen with soda and orange, or use as the bittersweet herbal element in a stirred cocktail.
