Juniper and bright citrus provide a familiar gin frame, while cardamom, fennel and prominent orange bring a warmer, savoury direction. Created with Vij’s, the botanical profile draws on the spice language of modern Indian cooking without losing the clarity needed in a mixed drink. Subtle floral notes soften the centre, then citrus and spice return on a crisp, controlled finish. About Mad Laboratory
Scott Thompson built Mad Laboratory in Vancouver with help from friends, family and the local community. The team takes part in everything from equipment design and production to packaging and quality control.
Production starts with 100% British Columbia malted barley and a continuously maintained yeast culture that the distillery likens to a sourdough starter. The spirit is distilled two or three times in a custom direct-fire pot still. Whisky matures in quarter casks and ex-bourbon barrels, vodka is carbon-filtered, and gin is redistilled with botanicals.
